The Cherokee County Water and Sewer Authority has supplied public service water to rural areas in Cherokee County Alabama since 1966. The Water Authority operates Bristow and Sanford Springs and currently services approximately 3,600 customers. Bristow and Sanford Springs produce an estimated 5 million gallons per day of pristine spring water. The Water Plant capacity is 2.4 million gallons per day and the daily pumping average is 1.2 million gallons of water. The employees here at Cherokee County Water and Sewer are proud to supply drinking water that meets or exceeds all Federal and Alabama State requirements.
The Cherokee County Water and Sewer Authority has provided sewer in the Town of Leesburg since the early 1970s. Our new Waste-Water Treatment Plant (SBR) was built in 2004 to a capacity of 250,000 gallons per day. Expansion has brought sewer service out into the county in the Yellow Creek area and future plans will keep sewer expansion a high priority.
We at the Cherokee County Water and Sewer Authority work around the clock to provide top quality water to every tap. We ask that all of our customers help us protect our water sources which are the heart of our community, our way of life and our children’s future.
